As co-owner of Contact Technical Solutions, LLC, Jeremy and his business partner Carl Brauning bring two decades of electrical work, much of it in commercial and industrial settings, to a young Albuquerque company built on a simple promise: fair prices, steady communication, and work that holds up.

Two Decades in the Trade, One Year Into Business

Contact Technical Solutions officially launched at the beginning of 2026, but the experience behind it goes back much further. Jeremy and Carl have worked together in the electrical trade for about twenty years, starting out in mostly industrial work with limited commercial projects. Their combined backgrounds include oil field work in Houston, conveyor systems, and electrical inspections for commissioning at semiconductor facilities and data centers, including time spent at Intel.

For years, the two took on side jobs on nights and weekends until the workload made that impossible. Once demand reached that point, they decided to go full time and start their own company. Jeremy describes the early days of ownership as exciting and a little frightening at once. After years of steady paychecks, running a business meant learning to generate that income themselves, and to feel a sense of accomplishment that had been missing while working for someone else.

From Oil Fields to Electrical Panels

Jeremy and Carl's path into electrical work started with tree service jobs before Carl decided to pursue the trade. He brought Jeremy along, and the pair eventually relocated to Texas for pipeline work, followed by stretches in Wyoming and North Dakota. Along the way, they built a deep familiarity with automation controls for tank batteries and compressor stations, experience that now shows up in the controls and thermostat work they take on for commercial clients in Albuquerque.

Eventually, both were ready to come back home to New Mexico. Today, Contact Technical Solutions operates out of an office on Montgomery Parkway Northeast. Most of the time, you'll reach Jeremy and Carl while they're out in the field.

Contact Technical Solutions covers a wide service area that includes Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Espanola, the East Mountains, and Moriarty. Right now, it is just Jeremy and Carl, so the two of them fill their own schedule and work to keep response times quick. Jeremy notes that while many electrical companies in the area are booked out a month or two, Contact Technical Solutions tries to respond to new requests within a couple of days.

The company splits its work about evenly between commercial and residential jobs. On the residential side, one of the most common calls involves outdated electrical panels. Albuquerque has no shortage of older panels that have outlived their intended lifespan, and Jeremy's team regularly handles service upgrades, bringing homes up to code with new two hundred amp meter combos, often ahead of a home sale or as part of a larger addition that requires moving the service drop.

On the commercial side, Contact Technical Solutions works with general contractors including a major local mechanical company, handling thermostat wiring, HVAC controls, and smoke detector shutdowns. The company has also taken on specialty consulting work, including a bid for a third party inspection at a local animal hospital. Recent and upcoming commercial projects include fan work at Popejoy Hall and thermostat installations at the University of New Mexico's archaeological building.

Ask Jeremy what sets the company apart, and he points to communication. Contact Technical Solutions stays in touch with customers throughout a project, not just at the start and finish, and Jeremy believes that consistency is a big reason so many customers call back for future work. When it comes to pricing, the approach is straightforward: keep quotes fair and stay willing to work with a customer's budget when it makes sense, without cutting corners to get there.

Finding Home in New Mexico

Jeremy grew up in Rowe, a small community in San Miguel County between Pecos and Las Vegas, New Mexico, and graduated high school in Moriarty. Carl, originally from Ohio, has spent most of his adult life in Albuquerque.

Jeremy speaks fondly of the state's mild climate and the access it offers, close enough to the mountains for an afternoon of fishing, and close enough to the desert for a change of scenery within a couple of hours. He also points to New Mexico's relatively small population as part of the appeal, having lived and worked in cities many times larger.

Looking Ahead

As for the future, Jeremy and Carl are focused on steady, sustainable growth. The plan is to keep reinvesting in the business rather than drawing large paychecks early on, building toward the point where they can bring on additional skilled electricians. Eventually, they'll grow into larger commercial invitations from general contractors, including high rise projects and more. For now, the goal remains the same one printed on their trucks and paperwork: The New Standard of Quality.
